Goal-Setting: Crucial Piece You're Missing
Mar 27, 2019
I don't know if I'm weird, but traditional goal setting hasn't worked for me.
If it was just a matter of writing down goals, focusing on the outcome, and taking action, I would have accomplished so much more than I have already.
Everyone would accomplish so much more than they have if it were that simple. But it's not that simple.
There are those rarities who seem to be able to go from idea to success without setbacks in lightning speed. But don't compare yourself to those people. It will make you depressed.
For us mortals it takes understanding the context and the vision of your goal. It also takes being willing to throw the goal out if it doesn't align with who you want to become.
What? "Damon what about committing to your goals?" You might say.
Commitment is crucial! But commitment to your goal is a problem. Where are you putting commitment in the goal-setting process?
If you're not achieving your goals you're probably putting it in the wrong place. In my latest video, I teach you were to put commitment to ensure your success even if you fail at the goal.
I know that sounds like it doesn't make sense. Trust me on this one though.
If you want to go much deeper with this, much deeper than I go in the video, check out my membership program.
