How To Become Your Best

There are many ways to become a better version of yourself. Here I will show you a powerful way to improve yourself and get what you want at the same time.
Ever see someone with something like a new car or a beautiful girlfriend or you hear someone talking about something great that just happened to them like a job promotion?
Of course you have. So what?
Did it sting? Did you feel jealous and envious?
Not every time of course but sometimes you do. Yes you do. Don't try to pretend like you're above it all. We're all human, which means from time to time we feel that nasty feeling called jealousy.
We immediately try to disconnect ourselves from the feeling by telling ourselves things like they just got lucky or they were born into money or they're just better looking and that's how it is.
At times we may try to convince ourselves we don't really want what they have or that you could get what they have but then you would have to sacrifice more important things like quality time with your family.
By the way it's even worse when the person is a friend of yours because you tend to think of yourself as on the same level as him or her. How is it they get to have something better than me?
Does that mean they're better than me or more deserving than me?
No, that thinking isn't helpful or useful nor is it true.
What is useful though is to accept this feeling and stop trying to distance yourself from it or suppress it.
Accept that you want what someone else has. You're jealous and that's okay.
Breathe.
Now what?
Start getting clear with what value or values you're projecting onto what the other person has that you want.
For example, about five years ago I wasn't doing any traveling and I love to travel. I had friends who were traveling and listening to them talk about their adventures and sometimes even romantic adventures made me very jealous and envious.
What value was I projecting on to travel? In other words, what would travel do for me?
Tavel to me is fun and adventurous. It's self-discovery, cultural, and educational. It also gives me a sense of freedom.
From there ask yourself how can you access these values right now?
Maybe I can't afford the money and the time off to take that trip to South Africa. However, I do like road trips and it's more accessible and affordable. It's also fun and adventurous and I get that sense of freedom that I crave from it as well.
This is a start.
What starts to happen is you will realize more and more how possible it is to get what you want and that it's a lot easier to access than you first thought.
Last but not least (this part is extremely important), be happy for the other person for what they have.
This might be challenging especially if you think the person doesn't deserve it. Adjust your attitude. Get out of deserving and non-deserving, binary thinking. It won't serve you.
Practice being happy for others especially when they have what you want. Vibrate on that frequency until it starts to feel like you're as happy as they are to have what they have.
It might even start to feel you possess what they possess, which will completely eliminate feelings of jealousy and envy.
This will change everything!
Perhaps you're not in this situation or it hasn't happened to you in a while. You can still use this practice right now.
I can remember years ago feeling jealousy and envy. It's certainly no hard task to recall a time in the past year that you felt the sting of envy creep up on you.
Go back to that memory and unpack it. Follow the steps I give here and get ready to discover something new about yourself.
Get what you want and become a better version of you while you do it!
