What's your biggest challenge or problem I can help you solve?
If you have no challenges or problems you're not doing something right. The more you strive to live your potential, the more challenges and problems you will encounter.
I would like to help you. Email me and let me know what your biggest challenge or problem is that you would like to solve.
I published a video called Change How You Think Instantly With This NLP Technique where I go in depth with presupposition, not only how presuppositions work in our everyday language to limit us or serve us but also the NLP Presuppositions that are the general principles of NLP.
That video did very well so I followed it up with a video about using presuppositions for persuasion.
The reason presupposition for persuasion is in my opinion the best persuasion pattern to learn is because it's something you do anyway.
You already know how to do it so all you need to do is recognize it in your language and modify it to direct the attention of the person you want to persuade to what you would like them to do.
And that's what persuasion basically is, repeatedly directing a person's attention to what you want them to do until it starts to become real for them.
I give examples in the video for presuppositions of time and presuppositions of awareness.
Presuppositions of time is when you use words like After, When, and Since.
When you finish reading this blog, I'm wondering what will you find most valuable about this information.
Notice what I presupposed in that last sentence: That you will read this entire blog and that you will find value in it.
The first part of the sentence directs the conscious mind to think about what it will be like once your done reading the blog while the message that you will find value in the blog will typically slide right into the unconscious.
Presuppositions of awareness usually include words like Aware, Notice, Understand, and Realize.
How quickly will you notice all of the presuppositions in this blog?
In this last sentence I'm posing a question about how quickly you will notice the presuppositions in this blog so whether or not there are presuppositions in this blog goes unquestioned.
While the conscious mind is busy answering the first part of the question, presuppositions in this blog slides right into your unconscious.
In order to use presuppositions or any type of persuasion pattern effectively you will need to have a specific target you want to direct the person you're persuading's attention to.
Don't just throw out random presuppositions that don't align to a specific outcome. You will confuse them. If confusing them is your goal then I suppose that will get the job done.
Stack presuppositions. If you only use a random presupposition here and there, don't expect it to work. Presuppositions work because you keep directing the person to what you want them to think about. If you're inconsistent, he or she will keep thinking about something else.
Be gentle and soft without presupposing too much especially at first. If you come right out with saying something like "When we go on a date together, I'm wondering what you will wear", before you've established rapport, they're likely to object and want to get away from you.
Same thing if you're at the beginning of a sales appointment and you say "Since you're here to buy something from me, let me show you this $1,000 widget," they're likely to want to leave your office right away.
Think of persuasion as a ladder. You want to climb the ladder one rung at a time without going back down the ladder. If you try to jump to the top of the ladder you're just going to fall back to the ground not ending up where you want to be, which is at the top.
There are more presupposition patterns and there are more NLP patterns of influence and persuasion. If you would like more information on persuasion patterns, let me know by emailing me or leaving a comment on one my videos.
Another video I published earlier this week that is receiving many views is How To Create A Can't Fail Business Using NLP.
I go into my journey into business and how NLP helped me understand why my first business didn't work out and how I've created a successful business since then. Check it out!
