Reach Your Full Potential In 1 Simple Step - NLP Self-Actualization

Most of us will not reach our fullest potential and the number one reason for that is because most of us don't challenge ourselves enough.
Why?
Because it's so much easier to choose comfort instead.
How often do we stay in our comfort zone rather than risk disappointment?
Even those of you who like to challenge yourself, are you challenging yourself within your comfort zone or are you truly challenging yourself by getting out of your comfort zone?
Whatever your answers are to these questions, answer this question first: What could be more disappointing than getting to the end of your life still wondering when is life supposed to get really good?
When is life supposed to be fun and adventurous? When are you supposed to make a lot of money, travel to exotic countries, start that novel or that business?
Most of us are waiting for the perfect time to start whatever it is we've been wanting to start.
You keep putting life off to be lived at some future date when all of your problems are solved and you have enough money, the kids are grown and out of the house, the mortgage is paid, and you've dropped the 20 pounds you gained over Christmas 10 years ago.
You'll get to it when.... But "when" never comes.
The future doesn't actually exist except as an idea in your mind and if you keep putting your dreams off you will get to the end of your life and wonder- when you could have been working toward everything you wanted all this time- why the hell did you not get started 10, 20, 30, maybe even 40 or 50 years ago?
What's even worse is when people who submerge themselves in the self-help/personal development movement (of which I'm a part of I admit) believe they must first purify their spirit, destroy their ego, pray, meditate, use the Secret and the Law of Attraction so that success comes to them "organically".
Sure, some things happen on their own.
Food can grow in the wild organically without the manipulation of humans if all of the right elements come together, but when have you ever eaten this kind of food?
Probably never.
The food you eat did not land on your plate as the result of someone praying, meditating, or using the Secret or the Law of Attraction.
No these plants and animals (if you're not a vegetarian) were planted, farmed, watered, fed, given nutrients, etc. to create a good crop or a juicy steak.
In other words, their creation was planned and executed with a predictable result in mind.
So why would you not apply this to your own life? Why would you leave your life up to chance so that you can say it happened "organically"?
I'm not suggesting that you always take the most difficult, most challenging path. If you can get what you want in a rapid, effective, least difficult way, you would be a fool not to do it.
What I am suggesting though is to be careful when you are making choices about your life. Are you choosing to go after what you really want by taking the road less traveled as Robert Frost put it? Or are you choosing what is most comfortable and avoiding the challenges that would test and actualize your potential?
We get caught up on the idea of already "having" whatever it is we want instead of the "doing". We want to jump past the doing and go straight to having.
While it may be nice to have more money and an exciting life, it would not be satisfying nor fulfilling if it was just handed to you and you didn't create it.
Answer the call of your potential.
What does that sound like?
It sounds like when you see someone doing something and you think to yourself "I could do that" or "I want to do that." You see someone who has something you want and you realize you want to know what that's like.
It's time to do it!
Once you answer the call of your potential with action, don't be surprised if what you want changes in the process; that's because you will change and evolve as you throughout the process. Just keep going. Keep answering the call.
It won't always be simple or easy, but it will be well worth it.
