Transforming Negative Qualities

When you think of qualities you would like to have but don't believe you possess or qualities you feel like you possess only sometimes it's because you've sorted your experiences in such a way that you're focusing on several examples in your experience that demonstrates the opposite or counter quality. To transform the way you sort experiences group the counter quality experiences into a gourd where all of the experiences demonstrate the same counter quality as if they all have something in common. Typically it's good to work with three to five at a time. Any more than that can get overwhelming. Find the counter example that seems the most powerful. It's usually the first one that comes to mind, but it might not be. The first or the worst will usually work especially if the first is the worst. Disassociate from the experience and connect with whatever your positive intent was at the time. Discover the resource you would have needed in that situation that was missing, the resource that would have helped you fulfill your positive intent. Re-edit the movie connecting with your positive intent and adding in the missing resource. Once the movie looks like what you wanted to happen, you can step into and re-experience it. You can also tryout the different perceptual positions for more insights. Put the re-edited version back into the group of counter examples and notice what happens. If the re-edited counter example was the most powerful counter example, more than likely the other examples will transform when you put the re-edited example back in the group. This was the case with Rick in this video clip.
