Your Meta-Journal

This summer at the NLPU Master Practitioner training which I was assisting at, I showed a copy of the 365 Day NLP Calibration and Flexibility Practice Workbook to Robert Dilts.
As he flipped through it he said, "This is amazing. You know back in the early days we use to have what we called a Meta-Journal that was kind of like this."
The Meta-Journal was a written notebook that Robert and others kept to write down their thoughts and practices of NLP. It was an integral part of developing the various skill sets of NLP as well as exploring and experimenting beyond what was already "known".
I not only put this 365 Day practice book together, but I'm going through it myself and learning some fascinating things along the way. Right now I'm at about day 70.
One thing that becomes clear is that there is some form of meaning behind everything that people do. They may not know what it is. And you may not either. But noticing it, and coming from this presupposition, starts you perceiving much more.
Over the past couple months I'm catching more and more people lying in the act. Its fun to do :) On topic of the Meta-Journal, I'm using this practice book for more than just the drill as its laid out. You can certainly do this yourself in any notebook. The book isn't required, just recommended as a good starting place for your practice. In addition to that daily calibration skill practice, I do some sort of NLP technique or practice each day. This is usually with myself, but not always so. And in the extra space of the book I write down what I did, some of the insights or shifts gained, as well as some area I may want to explore later. In this way this becomes an even more powerful NLP practice workbook, similar to what Robert was telling me about. So if you haven't already, start your Meta-Journal today..
